Ronja Storm is designed, developed and built by Havyard Group for Sølvtrans which owns the boat and will lease it to the Tasmanian company Huon Aquaculture on a ten-year contract. Sølvtrans has been providing wellboat services for Huon Aquaculture since 2014.
Highly advanced
Ronja Storm is specially designed and equipped for the demanding conditions in Tasmania, with strict design criteria for sustainability and fish welfare, safety and efficiency.
This makes Ronja Storm both the world's largest and longest wellboat and a ship with many innovative solutions, such as the world's largest fresh water production on board and increased safety for fish welfare. If something unforeseen happens, the ship is equipped with redundant systems.
In addition to being the largest wellboat in the world in a number of areas, the ship is also the world's first wellboat with a DC grid system and variable speed diesel generators. These features allow the ship to operate optimally in terms of speed and load, while maintaining the redundancy. This will result in fuel consumption, emission and noise cuts.
Havyard Group delivers technologies, systems or solutions in the following business areas: Havyard Design & Solutions (design and engineering), Havyard Ship Technology (equipment) and Norwegian Electric Systems (energy systems and automation).
